First Friday 6 June 08 Chinatown Courtyard Honolulu Hawaii

I'm throwing in some pics of my night before madness in the house trying to get my load chosen and organized, it's pretty stressful and it all happens so fast once the wheels are in motion.

Another really fun First Friday. Thanks to Jo Dee who runs the Chinatown Courtyard! I tried a new set up and it worked out fantastic. The traffic was slower than normal with a big block party going on in Waikiki. That aside sales were good and some new folks have Schrocat orignals and some others have prints :-)

There are a few pics of the night before organization and set up that was a bear, mostly on me because I like to bring allot of work and see what people are interested in.

Schrocat's Art at Chinatown Courtyard Honolulu First Friday 7 Mar 08

Everyone,
I wish I had picture of the incredible crowds that were present throughout the evening, but all of the pictures that I have are from the set up but it gives an idea of the space and the look of my pieces on the beautiful red brick walls at the Courtyard. I want to thank JoDee for having me at her incredible venue. She features at least one "up and coming artist" at the Courtyard, an opportunity probably not available to someone in my position. So please come down next First Friday and support her efforts.

The Courtyard is a gem in Chinatown, it's a wonderful open courtyard and garden between historical buildings with a ton of character. It has the wonderful Star Cafe serving up scrumptious food and drink. The crowd of nearly 1,000 people was extremely diverse, upbeat and interested in checking out the art, speaking to the artists. While the scheduled hours for the event were 5pm to 9pm, it was difficult to break free and pack up at 11pm :-) I didn't mind at all.

The Honolulu First Friday website is run by Ernest Abrams and can be viewed here http://www.firstfridayhawaii.com/

I was blessed with the sale of three of my paintings, and hope that the exposure continues to spread the word about my vision and creations. I look forward to more shows and hopefully I will talk to you about your thoughts on my work.

with aloha,

Todd
